Sediment in tank and lines starting to become a problem
Well, during a camping trip to New Hampshire, and while in NH, my Holley electric fuel pump quit working and I wasn't sure why. Since my flashlight was left at the camp site and I was on the highway at night, I had hardly a way to check over the problems. Had it towed and fixed, and it was sediment in the electric fuel pump, fuel filter, and lines. Said it was like pond water. They took the pump apart and cleaned it, put on a new filter and it was fine.
Not to mention my left tank was starting a drop before this. I think running the left tank to get rid of the fuel in there so it didn't leak, the tank I rarely use, probably had a lot of crap in it and aggravated the problem.
I think it's time to put in new tanks and rubber hose altogether. What do you guys think? I know I could just drop the tanks, drain 'em and put chain in there and knock off any more debris in there, but being so old, I'm thinking just new tanks and straps altogether. Seems like the rubber hose is deteriorating; not to mention whatever the hell is in the tank(s) getting stirred up.
