81-87 chevy truck seat
Has anyone put one in their 60-66 truck? I have a good one I want to use for my truck, but the brackets will not allow me to bolt it in. Has anyone modified one to fit? Thanks, Jeremy.

Re: 81-87 chevy truck seat
88 and up are pretty much bolt in's. You just have to drill the rear holes. I tried putting A 73 to 87 truck seat but it was to much of a PITA to get it in so I got one from a 90 chevy truck and it was bolt in almost.

i have a '87 i'm gonna put in just temporary while we re-do the stocker. looks like an easy swap, just drill new holes. i'll weld them up when the stock is ready to put back in

Re: 81-87 chevy truck seat
Well I got it done. I drilled out the rivits on the 60-66 bench seat brackets that bolt it to the floor. Then I welded them on the 81-87 bench seat tracks. First I had to bend the front mounting bars straight so the 60-66 perches would sit flat. The back track needed to be raised an inch and a half so the seat would be level. I went to a local hardware store and got some 1 1/2 spacers and some 5/16th 2" long bolt to bolt the track where it needed to be. Tack welded every thing first to check the fit. Now it bolts up to the factory holes in the floor!!

Re: 81-87 chevy truck seat
That is a lot better than drilling extra holes in the floor. Way to think "outside the box" and make it work the way it should. Congrats on a great job.

Re: 81-87 chevy truck seat
My friend did this in a blazer years ago.........if possible change the seat tracks to the cab.......I always remembered after messing around building crap for 2 days to bolt some seats in once.
You only appear to be missing some hammertone paint on those tracks! ![]() I was curious if you were happy w/ the quality of your tailgate?
