AC Problems
I recently installed a new ac compressor and condenser on my 1989 Suburban. The system hadn't been used in years. Today when I went to install the new R-134 (after installing the retro kit) The compressor kept kicking on and off every few seconds. I'm stumped and the repair shops just want you to bring it in. Anybody run into this problem? Whats the fix?

Re: AC Problems
I had a problem similar (it would go off/on when driving)... I replaced the switch that installs in the silver cylinder by the firewall. The part was cheap and fixed the problem...

Re: AC Problems
Sure... the switch tells the compressor to shut on/off depending on how much refrigerant is in the cylinder. Mine was acting up even thou it was full. Also be careful when removing it because coolant will shoot out... be quick and careful!

Re: AC Problems
LOW PRESS CUT OUT WONT LET THE A/C COMP COME ON IF THE SYSTEM IS LOW AS TO NOT TRASH THE COMP. THE CYCLING SWITCH CAUSES THE COMP TO KICK ON AND OFF AS NEEDED TO COOL THE TRUCK.
