Re: 1969 Chevy Stepside Restoration/Build up

Thanks for the comments and pictures!
I haven't had the time to work on it lately because I've been helping a friend with changing the engine in his car. I did manage to get the hood striped and bondoed. I can't paint/prime anything for awhile because the paint booth has a truck in it being repainted but that should be done soon.

Update: 1969 Chevy Stepside Restoration/Build up

Well I got some more done on the 69'. I finished the drivers side step side fender and now it just needs to be primed. I'm almost done with body work and about ready to prime and paint everything. I also dug out two 69-72 replacement fenders out of the attic. They are in good shape except for some small dents and dings. After those are done its time to paint, even thought I haven't decided on what color blue yet but still.
Here are some pictures:

Update: 1969 Chevy Stepside Restoration/Build up

I've finally decided on the exact color I want to paint the truck! This was a long decision, I originally wanted to paint it blue with a white top. This has now changed I was looking in a magazine and saw a picture of Stacey David's 67 Chevy Truck, Copper Head from Trucks/Gearz. I really love the color so I decided that I'm going to paint it the same being that I have never seen that same color up on any truck up here in Alaska so it will be one of a kind up here. It looks really good as a solid color and would look great on a stepside.

I found this on his website:
CUSTOM PAINT CODES
"Copperhead Metallic"
Custom Color created by Stacey David and Ron Payton of PPG
Paint and bodywork by Kevin Tetz; additional paint and bodywork by Malcolm Pritchett
Take these formulas to any PPG Distributor and they'll make a custom mix just for you!
1 QUART FORUMLA
CODE COLOR CUM. PARTS
DMD1698 Medium Aluminum 467.9 467.9
DMD1610 Transparent Red 809.0 341.1

Re: 1969 Chevy Stepside Restoration/Build up

I finished doing the body work and bondoing/sanding the drivers side fender. So I think I'm done doing all the major body work on all of the parts of this truck! Now its time for a lot of painting..... The guy at the paint shop is mixing up the Copperhead metallic paint for me too so I should get that soon.

Here's a picture of the fender:

Update: 1969 Chevy Stepside Restoration/Build up

Well I scored some bucket seats from a 2003 GMC Sierra for only a $100 dollars! They're in perfect condition and the drivers side is power. I like the fact that they have integrated seat belts as well. Unfortunately the guy selling them "lost the center seat/console" but said he would contact me if he found it. Anyway here are some pictures...

Re: 1969 Chevy Stepside Restoration/Build up

I installed a new dash bezel on the interment panel and it looks great. I'm still going to order a tach conversion kit for it so its not done yet, but for the mean time it looks great. I also installed the newly painted brake pedal assembly and put on a new brake pad with chrome trim.
