who is making the best parts and why for a 77 2wd ????

I’ve been using Moog for years. I’ve done the front end with all Moog parts on two Toyotas and I’m in the process of replacing all chassis parts with Moog on my 2X4 79 Sierra right now. All their parts are high quality and last, I’ve never had to re-replace any of their parts.

Thats the only one I use for steering linkage and balljoints. As long as you keep them properly lubed the last a long time.

4-6 times a year ,,, thats always worked ,,,,is some of the MOOG stuff made in China ??

30-35K??? Seems like you should get more then that out of it. Did you hit something maybe? Like a big pot hole or a curb? Or it could be an underlying problem like bad alignment, oversized tires (too wide especially), aggressive turning, bad gear box, any number of things. With out looking at your truck it’s hard to say. I expect to get at least 100-150K out of my front end job, then again I’m replacing everything:


Rag joint
Gearbox (cardone)
Pitman arm (Moog)
Tie rods (Moog)
Adding a steering dampener (Moog)
Idler arm (Moog)
Keeping spindles and the bar that attaches to the tie rods they’re in good shape
Ball joints upper/lower (Moog)
Control arms (making my own)
Control arm shafts (Moog)
Adding sway bars front and back (Addco)
Control arm bushings (Energy Suspension)
Body mounts (Energy Suspension)
Shocks (Rancho)

got back from the Zone,,,,,the $8 end was China the $13 was Mex. ,,the side by side was amazing ,,,,the $8 would work for a car,,, but at 4280lbs min.
I wouldn't try it ,,,wish i has Napa closer to see a good one

Your going to find that all large companys have parts manufactured in foreign countrys. Labor is cheaper which cuts costs. That dosn't neccesarily make the product poorer in quality. Alot of the GM crate engines are made in Mexico some of the trannys are made there too. Every company does whatever they can to cut costs and increase profit thats just how big buisness works. It's all about the bottom line.
