Yeah he's a little proud of it...doesn't look too bad though....just a little overpriced.

SRH916 is right, a 375 is a TH400 with a TH350 output shaft. The internals are the same as the 400, the only difference is the smaller output shaft.

Yep, I had one of those. I didn't know what the heck it was at first either.

Looks like a nice truck and he's got to start somewhere. Sometimes you find a buyer who wants exactly what your selling; if not, he'll figure it out and lower in time.

Re: Why is the price so high?

Thats craigslist for you. 13400 is his new price, I wonder what was the old price? Maybe his crate motor has a secret stash of gold in it.

Re: Why is the price so high?

My first guess would be that he is hoping that one of those "OH, OH, OH gotta have that" guys with more money than common sense spots it.

Second is that he has been watching Ebay and the auctions and has seen some really nice trucks go across the block for similar prices. The old "If that truck is worth 15 K mine must be too", thing. Good thing he didn't see the asking price on Wes's Garden truck, which I thought was well worth the asking price because it is/was a first class truck capable of winning any show it enters.

Or his know it all brother in law tells him that those "old classic" trucks sell for a fortune.

Or if he paid someone else to do all the work he actually may have that much or more tied up in it. At today's prices that would be pretty easy with the cost of rebuilding engines and transmissions and the cost of paint and body work.

I do think he is asking a short bed truck price for a long bed truck though.

I think most of these guys who throw out price that seems unrealistic to us familiar with the trucks are hoping for someone to show up with cash in hand and a gleam in his eye. Or they feel that a buyer with cash will try to negotiate a price so why not start high and go from there.

I am terrible at judging prices on these trucks as at my age I can remember what they sold for when they were new and still see pretty decent examples used as work trucks every day of the week.

well, in my experiance craigslist doesnt really attract buyers for anything more than a few hundred $ worth of stuff, so its a waste to try and sell somthing like that on there
