batterd, bruised, and bloody

BUT DONE!!!!

Just some advice to anyone installing a flip kit, dont do it yourself! What a pain. My 79 is now sitting on a 5/6" drop. SWEET
Ill post some pics asap.

Some things Ive learned: no two drops are the same. My 78 also has a 5" front drop, but I ran into comlpetly different probelms with this drop. Leafs springs are heavy. Axles are heavier. Doing the rear by yourself takes around 4 hours, the front about 1.5
Lastly, you have to take apart the entire freakin rear to put a flip on. Man that wasent fun

yeah i had to do all mine by myself too. i thought the flip kit was the easy part though. jus keep a jack under the pumpkin, unbolt leafsprings front, rear and u bolts, then jack the axle up some more and put your springs on from underneath. but i know what your saying 'no two drops are the same', my front was a bear b/c of a stuck balljoint. lez see sum pics

Cool.

We want to see some pics of these badass rides Tom. Buy a digital camera.

Sheeez. You guys talk about doing a little something by yourself. I've done everything on my truck by myself.

I didn't know you all were such big whimps.

did you do a notch tom? i had my bed off to do the notch, and that made the flip kit a breze to install, since you don' have to get on you back or anything, just stand right over it

Mike, I never said it was hard. Just time consuming and a pain :p

Ill get some pics tomorrow. My mom has a digital camara. Any speacial request for pics?
I still have to install the shock extenders, and grind the caliper brackets down some more, but that should only take about 45min.

As for the c-section, Im not installing it [I dont think] I havent really checked yet, but sevral people told me its not needed. I have it just in case.
Jermey, sorry no pics with the stock stance. It had 2" springs before the tires, but I dont even have a pic of that

If you are going to haul anything in it, you might think about the C-sec...
Or at least taking the bump stop bracket out, not just the stops, but the bracket also, this will give you an extra
1-2" of clearence...

Gald to see you got it done Tom. I'll probably never do it on mine but I'd like to see pics of how it's installed to get an idea of what all is involved

Mike, I'm doing nearly everything on my truck on my own, or with very limited assistance. BTW, i stripped my truck to a bare frame with no help. this includes rolling the cab off of the frame, and loading the bed onto a trailer for transporting it to my grandpa's house so he could put it on his K20.

My rear end was flipped when I got the truck but... the front end is not done yet. It could be a headache with all them rusty bolts & nuts. So I'm saving it so I can enjoy it later
