what up with my 71

i bought a 71 super cheyenne

i was checking it out in more detail. to see what i need to get this truck out on the road. when i had a wild hair and decided to see if the seat was good.. and saw this

i thought awe man some one replaced the seat. and then i looked at the glove box and found it had a code for blue cloth. so is this seat right?? is this a rare truck??

i can't wait to get started...

Looks like Houndstooth, to me. It'd be right.

Re: what up with my 71

Back when these trucks were new, nearly anything was available as an option. There were fewer "packages" that required certain things and "force deleted others." Ordering your new vehicle was far more common bach them too. Today with the limited packages and fewer options, along with a far better "network" to find what you want already built at another dealer, oddities/one-offs are non-existant.

BTW, I really love the V-twin engine........bicycle.

Re: what up with my 71

Seat is definitely correct for a Cheyenne Super, does the driver's side look as good as the passengers side?

Re: what up with my 71

I'm seeing a '57 Bel Air and a '55 Nomad. Clearly, you have too many toys. Oh, you have too much storage space, too. Okay, maybe you don't have enough toys for the storage space you have. But seeing your truck with the hood off and a bicycle in place of the powerplant, makes me wonder what you have "under the hoods" of the others

Re: what up with my 71

It looks to me like a keeper - top of the line truck, and looks pretty original. I don't know about rare, but it's a good find.

Probably how I found the GTO...someone left their door open!

Seriously I found the GTO by the guy calling me after I left him a note on his door...cause I seen the rear of it. Thats how I find most of the cars and trucks I have had.

i seen it before it got put in there! he pulled the motor and trans so he could sell to a truck to another guy and he backed out . it got pushed in the barn. because he was mad. and sat there and i kept bugging him about it. he gave in. there rest of the stuff in the barn is not for sale and all are being restored!
