Talking Dash Gauge Cluster Question 71 Blazer K5

I have a 71 Blazer K5 and it does not have a factory tach but i found a factory cluster with not only a tach but a "Air Pressure Gauge" I have no idea how that would work at all or what it does or even if it can be connected to my rig? So the 2 questions i have are is it easy to wire up the factory tach and could the "Air Pressure Gauge" work with my rig and how would it work and what does it do exactly LOL?

Thank you very much in advance for all of your help and i look forward to being a member of this forum

Tach is an easy hook-up. 1 wire it to your coil, can't help you with the pressure gauge unless you have air brakes.

Or air bags. It was used for air brakes in the bigger trucks

Welcome to the boards, and post up some pics when you get a chance

Or for onboard compressed air if it's a trail rig. i.e. air tools, tires, etc.

how high does the pressure gauge read? I'd like to have a factory looking gauge for my air tank.

I'll run downstairs and look...

0-150, mine seems to go where the vacuum gauge resides

Talking Re: Dash Gauge Cluster Question 71 Blazer K5

Here are pics of my rig i got it 3 days ago for $1500 and i have always loved that style and body and have always wanted one since my uncle had his original 72 Chevy Pickup I love it it runs great for the price and the condition its in and Original paint i could not pass it up and i like that it has the factory Front disk brakes also now i just need to convert the back and get the minor rust issues cut out .
Also is there a better easier way of uploading pictures or a better provider ?

Re: Dash Gauge Cluster Question 71 Blazer K5

Oh and was wondering if anyone knows why on the pink slip it says under Vehicle Type Model "VA" anyone know what that means ? I have a CJ5 and a 98 Grand Cherokee and they says "UT" i am guessing utility ? and a Jet Sky that says "Pleasure" in that field lol so i cant for the life of me figure out what VA means ? its prob something simple but just wondering if anyone knows lol

I Found it on the DMV website and apparently they did not know what to classify it as LOL here is the link to all the codes and what they mean if anyone if curious to know a certain code on there pink slip http://www.dmv.ca.gov/forms/ol/ol89.pdf

Thanks again guys so far i am loving this forum

Re: Dash Gauge Cluster Question 71 Blazer K5

We just took off my top, single wall top and two of us did it. I think the important part is storing it with support. Set it down and not "laying" up against the garage as it may cause warping. This is how I stored mine. Nice Blazer and great price, here is mine same original color as yours. Have fun, they are a blast to drive!

Re: Dash Gauge Cluster Question 71 Blazer K5

Here is a pic of the decal, go to LMC or ask some vendors here. Double wall is a little bit tougher to remove, heavier and the side bolts are from underneath and you need to take off the side panels I believe. As I said the decal is not 1972 correct but I like it in the glovebox. Yes you have a single wall unless you have an early 72 Blazer, and look at the side bolts to take it off, do you easily see them? Take care and nice ride! BTW one more thing, if you don't have HEI u should install it, best mod I did to mine.
