Anyone care to go camping???
Went and picked up my new adventure wagon today, what do you think? drove it 55 miles home and runs great! It's a 71 Cheyenne w/ factory helper springs on coil suspension. This thing floats down the highway! Anyway, has no rust thru although I see some bondo from a bumpup on the rear of drivers bedside. I am lucky to find such a solid truck and look forward to sharing my progress in this great forum.

Re: Anyone care to go camping???
Nice find on the truck...... my only advice and it is not really advice, but I get so much from this board by just looking at other members truck pictures. lots and lots of good looking vehicles to get inspiration from.

Re: Anyone care to go camping???
ok ... the coffee is talking now...... I suggest making some type of lift/hoist so you can remove the camper if/when you want to, I like the camper shell and would not throw it away, or wreck it....... some type of thing where you just backed under it, took out 6 quick clamps and lifted it off, one man operation. then you would have the open bed for other uses if needed
also I would buff the box to match the light blue to the dark blue. maybe the front paint was not buffed to look darker so that might not help. |

Liquid clay bar will do wonders for that paint,by hand. You sure have no shortage of ideas on where to go camping near you.

Re: Anyone care to go camping???
Good ideas, could make a jig up and leave the shell hanging in the woods to back under. Would look like a redneck tree house....going to work on the paint this week. I am thinking maybe some 32/11.50 all terrain tires on different wheels possibly but I will probably all possible ideas straight first, keep em coming!

Re: Anyone care to go camping???
Welcome, from just down the road.Looks like a solid start.I agree on keeping the camper. If it's been on there since new I'll bet the floor is in great shape.Keep an eye on the meets forum since there will be a NC meet sometime in Sept.
