Ok.. Got the cross member done.. 20lbs less.. Old one was 69lbs.. New one is 49lbs..
Also got a set of seats I was going to use in the Camaro mounted. Old bench, a whoping 88lbs.. The new ones 29lbs with brackets.. 59lbs.. I'll get some better pics when I remember to bring my camera.. Next on the list, cnotch and get rid of the brake booster..

Re: 79lbs gone so far..
Do you have a more direct pic of your X member? Im surprised the stock one only weighs 70 lbs... The stocker on my 72 looks like it was built to take a cruise missile.
What did you pay for those seats? I've been thinking of fabbing up a track only rig that similar. I would have guessed the stock bench to weigh around 40-50 pounds.. Why not fab up some tubular A arms while you are this deep? Great work and thanks for the post. I've been following your build for a while now.

Re: 79lbs gone so far..
Sorry, I didn't answer your questions.. I can't remember what I paid for the seats.. Bought them quite some time ago.. As far as the A-arms.. I thought about it.. I might have my buddy do that one for me. I trust my welding, but he is much more of an awesome fabricator than myself..

Re: 79lbs gone so far..
Let us know how the shock relocation works. Thats something I plan on doing soon.
And as for your skills, that X member looks pretty pro to me. Ive never done them, but it doesnt seem like A arms would be all that tough with a bender and the right dye.

Re: 79lbs gone so far..
Looks good.. Have you had it at the track yet? If not, you might get bothered about the fuel pres regulator on the firefall. Build a small bracket to get it off the firewall..
