tailgate handle flip
i have a tailgate band off of a blazer without the notch for my truck and im dying to put it on but i think it will be in my best interest to flip the handle first. what kit are you guys using that your happy with? is there a way to make one myself? please let me know and as always pictures on how-tos do help quite a bit.

AI used a Sir Michaels kit. It worked out nice. It was easy to do. If you are using a blazer band you wont even have to do any bodywork just weld the filler plate in and grind the welds and touch up the paint.

believe me i have wanted to do it plenty of times i just seem to get back into my right mind, i guess thats why they say patience is a vertue.
1984 swb, why would i have to weld that piece in? the band covers the whole thing doesnt it? the band i have has a small dent and im going to put it for now until i find a good metal worker to take out the small dent it has because i saw how much a new one runs. Let me know what you think if i have to weld that plate in or not. I turn to you guys whenever i need an answer i always get it here. |

The band will cover the hole in the tailgate. I guess you can get away without welding the filler piece in. I have a mig welder so it was no0thing to weld the filler piece in. If you dont have a mig just run the band without the filler.
