1968 2 door panel

Hey guys need you help, i have the opportunity to buy (for 500 bucks) a 2dr panel 2 wd, V8, the 1/4 panels & rockers are rusty...normal...where does a guy get the panels? LMC didn't have a clue...less than even...i would suspect that a long bed 1/4 would be the way to go. the inside shows that it was made all as one piece to the roof line, i guess a guy would cut and seam it in. Looking for your suggestions, thanks, pics to come.

I think you'll have to use Suburban 1/4 panel patches and rockers.

Re: 1968 2 door panel

There are some of the pieces made. But,not the tail light area and other areas.I`ve seen guys modify p/u bedsides to repair Suburbans & Panels. All Panels are 2 door, like all Suburbans are 4 door.

Re: 1968 2 door panel

the Panel trucks are pretty rare. Most were used up in the trades.Rockers should be the same and the lower body can be made up from the fleetside panels.I'm not sure how they fit up.YET!,but I will be finding out when I get to bodywork. They do make or did a taillight area panel for the 'burbs.I've only seen one but IIRC it was one of the major manufactureres brand on it.Also the BB vendors here will have a much better price and idea of what's available than LMC.The people at LMC are just order takers they don't have a clue.

Re: 1968 2 door panel

You can buy the lower rear quarters from GoodMark or Tri-plus. The inner and outer rockers are the same as the truck. Take a look at my 69 Suburban build in my signature link. I have quite a few pictures showing the quarter panel and rocker replacement.
