Cool 67-72 Disc Swap Questions

Hi all!

Thinking of shortening one of my LWB frames to a SWB and want to do the 5 lug disc swap.
This truck I am using is a 1972 3/4 truck.

I have a complete set of 1/2 ton Disc Brake spindles setups from a 72.

Now.
What do I need to know about this swap?
Should I try to locate the 72 1/2 ton A-Arms?
Can I use the 73 up 1/2 A-Arms on the 72 crossmember?

So, what direction should I go to accomplish this?

Thanx!

I also have an 84 1/2 ton complete truck I am going to dismantle.
( freeekin Calif smog laws!!!)

Sorry if this is redundant to ask but I did a search on the site and couldnt locate what I need.

Re: 67-72 Disc Swap Questions

The last thing I want to do is take away from anyone on this site who will want to answer your questions. For several issues of Classic Trucks magazine, they did a conversion of a 3/4-ton chassis to do what you would like yours to do.

I am sure their archives are available on-line, and if not, the issues may be.

But, there will be any number of fine folks here who can tell you every possible thing that would affect your plan...what to do, what not to do.

My reason for checking this is I have done the ECE conversion on my '69, and didn't know your plan. Hope this helps.
