interesting use for a 60-61 hood

can you spot the 60-61 chevy truck hood on this?
I guess the 60-66 truck hood makes a decent roll pan, a couple other ideas as well.

That second truck is fantastic. I can't say I've ever seen a better paint job than that.
the rest of them....are...not my cup of tea

The Atomic Punk, very cool car. Never realized the 60-61 truck hood grafted into the rear-end.

Re: interesting use for a 60-61 hood

I had a 61 as one of my first vechicles and my first truck... fixed the typical rust with bondo, and painted the entire thing with spraypaint.. looked great for about 6 months! (wish I still had it) but I was only 15...

Re: interesting use for a 60-61 hood

I've been planning on building a roll pan for my truck, and was thinking of using part of an old hood. It's a 64-66 style, so the grey one is a similar idea, but I'd still need to heavily modify it to fit my idea.

Re: interesting use for a 60-61 hood

I found another shot of the elcamino, I think it might be a cool idea for a 62-6 hood-custom park light... check out the flipped and cropped shot.

Nice work, but that poor El Camino... I've seen that thread on the HAMB. Kills me.. I used to own a '60 El Camino... I let it go, now I regret it... Only 14,000 were made in 1960...

Re: interesting use for a 60-61 hood

there is some solace in knowing that he started with a real rough elcamino...., I have one that is actually in worse shape!
we are thinking of making it a gasser, since there is no floor to speak of.

You're right. Knowing that does make it a little better. A gasser would be cooler than heck. I came across this pic the other day... Brought a tear to my eye...
