gmc vs chevy hoods?

hey all I know the front clips are different on Chevys from 67 and 68 to the 69 to 72 years so the hoods are different. What about on GMCs I know there are some differences will a GMC hood fit a chevy? Are all teh years on GMC the same?
Thanks
Dave

Re: gmc vs chevy hoods?

It's my understanding that the 67 & 68 Chevy & GMC hoods are the same, but the 69-72 Chevy vs. GMC hoods are different. So, you could use a 67 or 68 GMC hood on a 67 or 68 Chevy, but you couldn't use a 69-72 GMC hood on a Chevy. I think the GMC hoods are longer.

Re: gmc vs chevy hoods?

You're halfway right. The 67-68 gmc's fit 67-68 chevys and the 69-72 gmc's fit 69-72 chevy's.

The 67-68 gmc won't fit 69-72 gmc's (without other work being done)

It's the fenders that are different (well, also the radiator supports, grills, hood latches, etc.)

Re: gmc vs chevy hoods?

the chevy and GMC hoods are the same between each other through the years.
When chevy went verticle, so did GMC.
There are holes in the hoods that need addressed though for the badging.

Re: gmc vs chevy hoods?

Oh. I thought the 69-72 weren't usable between brands...

I guess that's what I get for not owning a GMC.
