Drip Rail

How do you shave the drip rail around the top of the cab?

I have no idea... but I am curious... Why are you?
Do you have a pic of how it looks when shaved?

my educated guess would be

1. cut it off
2. weld up the cab where you cut off the rail
3. spread your filler and sand it(repeat as needed)

I was thinking the same thing as bdydrp97s10, I was wondering how you were supposed to do it, or what it would look like when you shaved the rail.

ther was an artical on how to shave the drip rails in custom classic trucks a while back

What I did:

cut out about 5" section about halfway through the drip rail, then tack back together along the whole thing.

Then grind down the rest of the drip rail to where you want it to end. This opened up the gap, so i then hammered back the windshield metal to match back up with the roof metal.

Here are a few pics....granted it's only been primered over to prevent rust until I take it to the body shop for filler/sanding/paint.
