Keyless remote door locks...

Does anyone have them? If you do how do you like them?

I've been kicking around the idea of installing them on one of my trucks.

One concern I had was wiring. I didn't want to have wires sticking out of the doors. I thought about some spring contacts that I could mount on the door and frame similar to these fom custom classic:

I've used something similar before. The key fobs aren't the greatest, but overall I'd do it again.

Re: Keyless remote door locks...

i got keyless, but i ran wiring through the door to an alarm, as well as speaker wire and power window wires in the future. love my keyless, and with my alarm i got it to lock doors after engine start and unlocks when i turn the key off. thats great because the lock rods don't make rattling noises when they're locked and i'm driving.

Where did you buy the kit?

I like the idea of locking and unlocking with the key. Is that something you rigged yourself or did you also have some instructions for that?

Sorry for all the questions...

Re: Keyless remote door locks...

someone pried/broke my vent window one night but didnt get in. and i got some lock actuators from a local alarm shop, and installed them at the house. they weren't strong enough and i took em back. they called around some random places (i really hate these guys) and they said they were the strongest ones around. i then went to lmc truck and saw they had a keyless kit for 80 dollars, and those actuators worked great. plus with that it's central locking so if you lock or unlock the drivers door the passenger door will do the same. after awhile i got an alarm and wired the door lock actuators to my alarm's brain and it has all sorts of features for it.
