Rocker panels
I found a guy that has some original GM rocker panels for our truck. He wants $150 for them.Is it worth the extra expense to get the GM one vs the repops?

Re: Rocker panels
I don't know what others might have to say but I don't recall too many people having issues with repop rocker panels compared to some of the other body parts.

Re: Rocker panels
I used NOS of my 71, no issues, used tri-plus on the 72 4x4 and they went in just as easy again no problems. The tri plus felt just as heavy and well built as the NOS ones.

Re: Rocker panels
$150??? He must be dreaming. I can see if it was a tailgate, hood, door, fender, etc... But not rocker panels.
I bought some rocker panels from JC Whitney about 15+ years ago for my 69. They still don't show any sign of rust and they were just as solid as the originals. |

Re: Rocker panels
The Triplus rockers are actually made from heavier gauge steel. A Triplus rocker weighs exactly 1 pound more than the GM rocker does. I have installed both and they both fit great, but the Triplus rocker will not have the wrinkles and creases that the GM rocker will have. Also the GM rockers are about 8 times more expencive than Triplus. WES
