Re: Barn Hunting In Tn with pics
In a barn below my house is a 66 GTO 389 4 speed, the sticker died on the car in 83, everything appears to be on the car minus the carb but some had the since to stuff the intake with a van halen T-shirt to keep creatures out...I'll snatch a pic later on

Re: Barn Hunting In Tn
I've had quite a few barn finds. Here is the one from last summer. 1964 Vette two top, 365 HP, 4 speed, 4.11, power metallic brakes, radio, red on red and etc. Has about 20,000 miles and was last started in 1971. Going to take awhile but I'll get it going. Should be pulling the engine in the next few weeks. You never know what you might find out there.
Like the trailer hitch? That has to go. Last edited by Dean; 03-22-2008 at 08:39 PM. |

Re: Barn Hunting In Tn
I just picked up this barn find '66 Chevelle SS 396 that's been hiding for the last 20 years...8 miles from my house! The PO pulled the 396 after he spun a bearing back in '86...put in a hot 327...drove for a couple of years, then parked it because it got bad gas mileage...LOL. A buddy of mine was having some fence repair done on his property...he has a lot of old iron laying around...the contractor saw some of the old cars, and said "I've got an old car out in my barn"...my buddy asks what it is...the contractor says, "an old '66 Chevelle"...my buddy gives me a call, and that evening we meet over at the contractors place...you should have seen my face when we looked in the old guys barn and there it sat covered in dust. The contractor had told my buddy it was an SS...it had the right badges, but did it have the SS only 138 VIN...it sure did! Original 325 horse, powerglide, buckets, console and factory air...black on black. The best part? Sitting in the corner of the barn was the original 396! The second best part? I brought it home for $2500. As Mr. Burns would say...exxxcccellent.

Re: Barn Hunting In Tn
I didn't find mine in a barn, but it was behind one. Had it been in a barn I believe I could have gotten her on the road faster, took me 7 years to get her into shape, lots of rust in the lower half. Needs a new paint job now.

HTML Code:
What kind of weapon do you use for 'barn hunting?' Shoot to kill...sometimes they charge when they are wounded and it can get really ugly!
