91' stepside bed
I am putting a 91' stepside bed on my 68'. Wondering if any one has done this swap before. If so could I have details?

I did it years ago.
I had to build spacers out of square tubing under the front mounts. In the back, I had to build a "bridge" extending off the rear of the framerails for the rear mount to set on.

The frame on the later trucks is wider so you will have to a)drill holes through the bed floor or b)adapt the stock mounts with a long piece of steel plate.
1) Mount the front crossmember on the stock front mounting pads with or without the adapter plate. This should get the lower body line very close. 2) Use a long piece of 2" sqaure tube to mount the rear crossmember. This will appropriately position the rear of the bed to even the cab to bed gap. It will also serve as your adapter for the mount bolts if you do not want to drill the floor. 3) Shim as necessary to get the perfect fit with your truck at ride height on level ground. 4) Enjoy!

Hey Karl. I don't think Tx has been on board since about last December, for some reason. But if you click on his username you can look up his posts and find out all about his suspension setup and lots of other very useful info from him. He's a good guy.
