What did you pick up at Charlotte?

I got a bunch of crap. My best score was a VERY straight and almost rust free hood for $100. Wouldn't come down in price and it was the best one I found. I also liked that it had never been repainted, no hiding bondo or covered up rust.

I also got a new door lock set, 2" rally trim rings (or maybe they're 1.5"?) new fleet taillight lenses, blue dots, new fleet rear "sport" bumper, a sunburned forhead and two sore feet. I also got 28mpg (99% highway) out of my S-10

Anyone else? Heck, doesn't even have to be charlotte auto fair. Any cool parts acquisitions this weekend? (Yeah, I'm a day early )

So far I got a wiring kit from EZ Wiring, a new rear bumper, pedal pads and stainless rings, new lenses for the front and rear, and set of 4" drop coils for the rear.

This morning I'm going back to order a set of carpet and pick up some chassis black paint from eastwood. Not sure what else. I really wanted to buy a set of the no limit bezel and glove box doors, but the guys from carolina classic didn't setup.

For anybody needing carpet, Pro Fit auto interiors is selling ACC carpet for a pretty good discount. I think the normal $196 for $140 and I don't remember the discount on the other upgrades.

I got a couple of small parts, including another POR engine paint kit. Found a GM choke hole cover for 67/68 truck decent shape for $5 (impluse buy, did not need it for anything). Got to meet GC Burdic and talk trucks as well as spent some time talking to Jerry Brown and looking at his newest truck, orange and white copy of early classic truck that sold to the gentleman in Virginia. If you did not see this truck you missed another nice creation from the Crossville truck shop- it was two days out of the shop- fresh. Good weather and alot of parts inside did not have time to go outside.

I couldn't make Charlotte, so i put the pallet forks on the tractor & drove it 2 miles away to the local bone yard. I found a '68 in there that i had somehow missed on my last 4-5 visits. The hood is almost a carbon copy of yours, but i had to fight the damn briars to get to it. Used the tractor to lift up a '72 that i got the much needed power steering gear box off of. The gear box is on my '68 now, & is working great. The hood & gear box were $100.
I have to go back with a steering wheel puller & get the '68's wheel....it is in fair condition.

Cool stuff everyone. I wish I had more time myself, but I didn't get there until 1:30 friday and everyone started "packing up" at around 5.

This yard is way out in the sticks & kinda like the guys backyard. The '72 is nose down on a hill, so with nothing to chain it to, there is no way to jack it up without it sliding forward. My 40 horse tractor & pallet forks made it easy. We have a few of these old yards scattered about. It's funny, but the briars & poison ivy actually have a preservation effect - hiding it for years & keeping those in shorts & short sleeves away. Even in the dead of winter the dried tentacles keep hanging onto the treasure & it's thorns........ I can spend all day wandering around these yards.............

I got a nos front bed panel,a nos tailgate,a passenger door in near perfect shape, 3 chrome vent windows and a whole drivers stepside that needs some work and all the cross braces.ALL for 3 bills

Met up with 71super....great guy and enjoyed chatting about trucks....and YES that truck Jerry had looked amazing!!!....By the way, that choke hole cover is mine now....THANKS 71 super

I picked up 2-15x10 and 2-15x8 rally's, trim rings and an antenna....
also, got a nice sunburnt forehead....but well worth it!!!

BTW Picked up Rockers and a 4 core Radiator w/brackets,a couple die casts, and got the QOV a couple of NASCAR T's.

i drop $200....got the truck....4 sets of doors.....two front clips.....two hoods..... all n all the parts can be pieced to make one truck.....

i have also been saving parts for some time now (4yrs) so let the fun begin. i know it has a long ways to go, but i got it mostly for teaching myself how to replace rockers....cab corners....part of the floor board and probably pass down to my son (he just turned 6yrs old ). this site has enough info to guide so i feel safe
