My wife wants me to bag the burb, so that she can get in and out easier. It is a 3/4 ton Big Block '72, with coil rear end. I have an compressor setup from Arnot that I was going to use in my truck, 2 valves,1 dual needle gauge, with 2- 6" bags from Slam Specialties. I was setting it up in my truck so either back bag could be aired individually for load leveling, etc. My questions are:
1) I know everyone is saying the 7" and 8" bags are better for the rear of the trucks. But can I use my 6" bags for the front of the burb?
2) If I get 7" bags for the rear, will that be enough? Or should I get 8" bags for the rear?
3) Will the cups and plates for the front a-arms on a 1/2 ton work on the front A-Arms on the 3/4 ton? There are some on the parts board I may get if they will work correctly.
4) Do I need to get drop spindles? We are not looking for a crazy drop, but the burb is way too high for her right now. If so, Do they make 3/4 ton drop spindles? Who sells them?

Early Classic has the drop spindles for you. They may only have the ones that use 3/4 ton ball joints and tie rods but convert to 1/2 ton discs. Give 'em a call.

With that big block you probably want at least a 7" bag up front. That's what I run with mine (front and rear). Guys like the 8" bags in the rear for towing. You may be able to get away with the 6" in the rear if you aren't planning to load it down or tow. You could always replace them if you find them inadequate.

The plates should work fine with the 3/4 ton arms. Only difference is the ball joints as far as I know.

Thanks guys! Due to money restraints at the moment I may stick to using the 6" bags up front (for now) and buying a set of 8" bags for the rear. I will see if it is cheaper to buy the cups and plates off the parts board, or from a vendor. I figure we need about a 2/4 drop, so I probably won't need spindles at the moment, but we will see how it al works out in the end.
