Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: My new 64

Rear bags are mounted to a cross bar welded on the kp notch... shocks are are mounted the same way.. Stock innter fenders are completely gone and new metal ones made... I will get pics this weekend... I promise! Been too damn busy lately! Tire sizes are 215/65/15 front and 275/60/15 rear... Front tires are a little smaller than I would like but they do not rub when turning and I run it LOW!

Man I didnt' know there was a thread on this truck. I like, I like

As for the change in wheels I personally wouldn't do it because what your rolling on now makes the truck look just awesome, but if you have to change you have to change.

I won't hate you for long.

Re: My new 64

How were the hinges done since it looks like the tubs were modified right where the OE hinge attaches @ the inner fender?

Drop spindles or no?

Hood hinges are off of a 57 chevy truck... Welded up a 2x4 box to the firewall to attach them too then fabbed an area under the hood to attach them to.. I will take closer pics.. It does have 2" drop spindles... Sorry I havent got the wheel specs yet but I will!

What a great looking old school truck!

IMO, leave the wheels on it that are there, and save your money. That truck is killer!

Re: My new 64

That thing would look good lowered! I can hardly wait 'til I can get mine scraping the asphalt like that. I like that the hood still raises and closes the way the factory intended it to and that it has inner fenders. It looks great as is, can't wait to see it with the new wheels. I'd hang onto the old ones too though. Maybe through a set of wide whites on them then you could swap them back and forth to change it up every once in a while???

Thanks man, I am obviously a Mean Joe Greene fan too. That is what inspired me to name my '63 Chevy Project "MEANlowGREEN". My dad is from PA also. I've made many trips up there throughout the years. I've never been to Pittsburgh though. I've been to Gettysburg, to the cars shows at Carlisle, Allentown and some smaller towns in between. There is a lot of beautiful country up there.
