Third Row Seats???

I can't seem to find a junkyard that will part with a set of third row mounts so I need to fab up my own. I found some on Evilbay but they were 140.00, no thanks, lol. Does anyone have some pics of these mounted up? I need some ideas.

Re: Third Row Seats???

Here is mine.

I thought there was a install thread, but I can't find it. The were mounted by Rokcrln before I had them recovered. I just cut some third row brackets out of a mid eighties burb and the '97 burb seats mount right up. It folds down and pulls out.

Re: Third Row Seats???

FYI the mounts I got from the yard were only $20, not including the new cordless drill and sawsall I bought to make it easier.

The looks awsome! Super clean. Are those sub enclosures in the back?

No, they hold my air tanks and valves for my suspension.

Re: Third Row Seats???

I think epsorenson had it done on his. I wanna say they grafted in the floor section so that his seats mount flush.

EDIT: here's the link --> http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=260518

Re: Third Row Seats???

BigJ, I like those! I've got a 3rd row that I got out of the trash and I'm going to do mine the same way. Did you use the original rear seat mounting holes for the brackets? It looks that way, just wanted to make sure.

I didn't use the original holes but I did leave the original bottom support running underneath the floor. I just drilled through it and used grade 8 hardware. Nice find on the seats.

Ya, I was moving my daughter into an apartment in Lakewood last year and there it was sitting next to a dumpster. Of course, it had to ride back to the house with me!!

Re: Third Row Seats???

what size round stock did you use for the seats to "clip" to? I like the brackets came out. Is that 3/16 or 1/4 angle? It wld be great if you cld post some close ups. Thanks, Mario

The front mounts use 1/2" the rear were kinda square and rounded. So I took some square stock and turned it down till it fit tight when I locked the seats down. You could use 1/2" front and rear though. I'll get ya some pics when I get back over there.

Actually there are some good pics here.
