I found this old wheel in a trunk of a 64 buick at the local junk yard. I paid $8 for it. I know I will need a mounting kit. Original steering wheel has some cracks. Is this a period correct wheel for a 69 c10? Does anyone running same type of wheel?

My '67 Firebird had one like it, that had chrome spokes on it, when I got it in '78. So,I'm definately of the opinion that it is period-correct. Get a Grant adapter and you'll be good-to-go.

Looks like a aftermarket steering wheel maybe a Grant steering wheel.

I got one like it, not sure if I am going to use it in this truc or stay with the 88-94 models truck wheel.

I'd say it's about right, I can remember wheels like that from that era. In fact, I'm still using a similar design in my '72. Bought it from Dick Cepek waaaay back -- mine has black foam instead of wood, and chrome spokes that starting getting cruddy so I painted 'em black hammered. IMO, it's a much better size and more comfortable than stock.

I never heard of Grant back then.It was Superior and a couple other companies.That is a period piece.I have one,too.It`s just about the same,if not the same.

it's a Superior wheel. I looked at summit and they have an installation kit for it. How do you mount a horn button on this wheel?

I had a Grant one just like it in 72. Real nice wheel. You will need the horn kit also. It's a chrome center cap that clips down over the horn contact plate.
I also had the chrome spoke wheel with the thick black foam rim in my dune buggy in 69. They were both good wheels.

The kit comes with instructions. IIRC, there is a ring for the horn button to snap onto, a coil spring to keep it off the steering wheel until you press it, and a plastic ring with a small wire spring circling it... not sure, but I think that's about it. The stock horn wire goes through the fourth hole in the steering wheel and snaps onto the end of the wire spring.

Edit: It mounts with three bolts. You'll also need the correct bolts and a mounting base. And a steering wheel puller...
