76 stepside 454/400/373
My dad recently passed away. He has a 76 c-10 stepside that he special ordered with a 454 turbo 400 and a 373 posi rear. It was also ordered as a heavy 1/2 with extra leafs on it and no emissions. The body is better than most it does need rockers. I plan on fixing the body and everything back to original as was his plan. I own a 1970 and 1971 blazers so I am not current with 76 prices. For insurance what would you guess it would be worth
Thank for any help |

Welcome to the 73-87 forum pound41. Sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. It's nice to know he had good taste in trucks. Insuring one of these trucks is tough. If you go with blue book value, it would probably come in around 2500-3000 at best.
If Pics would help a lot.

I think insurance depends alot on how old you are, driving record and year of the truck.. at least down here. I'm 37 with no tickets and my 81 2WD costs me about $180 a year.

80 Sport
Mechanically, drive train and body are all original. It was repainted a different color. It was originally 81 Gold but it was painted a red color. It is a scottsdale. No stripes. When he went to order it I begged for the black or orange with the white stripes. He said no way. I was very dissappointed because he was getting rid of my favorite truck. Re: 76 stepside 454/400/373
hey sounds like my truck, cept its a 75 GMC, but its a factory 454/T400/3.73/AC.
I have mine insured as a collector through AAA, no problem unsuring it for a stated value of 10,000. I really need to get it appraised proffesionally. Ive been told by a couple friends who are pretty knowledgable that it should come in 20-25K. well see, Im a bit sceptical.

Check with your insurance company. I know that if I get my appraised, I can have my insured for whatever the appraisal comes in at without any issues. I have erie ins. which is pretty popular up in PA. Good luck with your fix ups.
