Re: Big block frame motor mounts. Where to buy?
This one comes up pretty often. If you run a search you'll get a lot of threads.
Really, it depends on if you want it to be correct, and if you have a 72. I went through a lot of heart-ache finding a set for my 72. There are two different styles of mounts- 67-71, and 72 only. I found an authentic pair of 72 only mounts from a board member. They cost an arm and 1/2 of a leg, but I wanted it to be correct if I ever sell it. You have a couple options: 1) find a set of 67-71 mounts and use them (not too hard to find) 2) modify a pair of 73-87 SBC mounts (there is a FAQ for this on the board. Basically just drill out a few rivets and drill some new holes). I tried this first, but was not happy with the results (the driver side valve cover sat about a 1/2 inch below the PB booster). 3) Buy an aftermarket tubular setup from performanceonline.com (about 150 and people have been happy with them) 4) Search long and hard and shell out big bucks for the 72 only towers 5) make your own
