disc brake conversion

im doing a db conv. on my 70 and im gonna use the 70 upper and lower orig. control arms.i got stock spindles off a 72 i got 2 questions.can i just buy the moog upper and lower ball joints for a 72.and i read something some time ago about possibly grinding the stop on the db spindles so that it moved fully from lock to lock.oh and one more question regarding the outer tr ends,do i have to change just the outer or both outer and inner.thx

The original tie rods won't work with those spindles. You can get outer tie rods for the 72 and buy a special adjuster sleeve that will fit the original inners and the 72 outers. I'm sure the vendors on the board sell them. The ball joint diameters are the same IIRC; the only difference is the taper/length of the stud. When I did mine I used the parts from an '89 burb. I just swapped the control arms over and u-bolted them to the original crossmember. Then swapped in all new burb front end parts. I thought about going the route you are doing but I ended getting the burb for next to nothing. Hope this helps.
