I have a 69 c10 that I need to upgrade to disc brakes and I might have a great deal on the front suspension of a 1990 c1500. I know that the 73-87 is pretty close but how about the 88-93? I do not have any fab tools and little skill, is this really a good deal or do I need to pass and wait to get the parts off of the 73-87? Thanks.

PASS. You can use anything from 73-87 pickups and 73-91 Suburbans.

Ya, go with the 73-87 parts. Very simple swap. You can usally get a front suspension clip for about $150 in my neck off the woods.

There is a way to use the 88-98 spindles and brakes by using 67-72 3/4 ton lower arms. But unless the 90's stuff is free I think I'd still go 73-87.

What about using the brakes on the earlier spindles?

Never hear of anyone doing that swap. The common one is the spindles/brakes from a 88-98 6-lug non 4x4 application to earlier 6x-70 trucks using the 6x-87 3/4 ton truck lower a-arm.
