Re: Sublaze

Looking good, keep it up, we are here for ya!! I mean support, as I am not sure I'd start something like that. I could do it, but I am such a perfectionist, I'd spend every waking hour on it and quit my day job!! I am envious of you guys that do this in your "spare time" as I couldn't the amount of time and effort away from the kids, etc would be the end of my married life as I know it! Good work, looking forward to more picts!!

Re: Sublaze

I found the sub is wider than a blazer,I will have to add on to the tail gate to make it fit the opening. It measures 68 1/8 after the bed sides were squared,so thats another small thing to deal with.Im welding it solid anyway so it shouldnt make any diff. just more bodywork.

Re: Sublaze

The sub isnot wider than the blazer,I found a tail gate to get a measurment from and the opening is correct.I wont be able to use the 90 tail gate it is alot shorter than the older ones.I found one full of bondo so still looking,I would like to have the Chevrolet for the lower part to be in good cond. but may be hard to find.Maybe a louvered skin would work, anyone know where to find one?

I like the idea of a CHEVROLET gate, it would look better than louvers IMO

Re: Sublaze

Hi Steve, this is the first time I have looked at your post and you have quite a project going there.I have a tailgate from a 72 that the outter skin is in good shape but it is rusted through on the inside where the bed was full of leaves .I will take $60 for it if it will work for your purpose.I can even cut just the outter skin off with the top lip still on it to make it lighter to ship if interested.send me a pm if interested.can't wait to see it finished now that I've seen it.I saw one in truckin mag awhile back with the gate welded up solid and the laid back winshield.Bright red with a 67 or 68 front end and was a very cool looking roadster.keep at it and post some more pics.
