Fantastic, and welcome to the boards. I also have an 81 Sierra with a 4.1 inliner, but mines a fleetside. I'm also not very familiar with carbed motors either. To help you with your question, If you're swapping over to a fuel injected engine, I think you have to perform major work to the trucks wiring harness. I don't think our trucks came with any sort of computer, so adding a FI engine will entail adding the computer and all related stuff. I think there is some threads about swapping to FI somewhere around here.
