Tach Dash and Bucket seat questions
I scored this tach/air pressure dash and passenger bucket seat out of a C70 this weekend a guy was going to crush for FREE! I thought it had a pair of factory buckets but the drivers side had clearly been replaced with a suspension seat by drilling holes in the floor. Anyway, Is there a replacement lens available for a Tach/Air dash? And is this passenger bucket the same as a Blazer? It hinges ahead on the front brackets and is pinned in place on the back. Thanks in advance.

Re: Tach Dash and Bucket seat questions
Watch the parts board as you just missed one a week ago.
Nice score!

Re: Tach Dash and Bucket seat questions
That seat looks like a passenger side utility bucket seat for a 69-72 blazer.

Re: Tach Dash and Bucket seat questions
I agree the seat looks identical to the Blazer/Panel utility seat.No one makes the tach/air lense new.

I've never looked closely at the instrument panels before, but can you cut a piece of Lexan for it?

Re: Tach Dash and Bucket seat questions
No that one has a vacuum gauge and mine is an air pressure gauge. I wish it was a vacuum gauge instead though.

Re: Tach Dash and Bucket seat questions
What is wrong with the lens? It just looks dirty to me? Get some goo gone for the decal and get it off with your fingers and then take some soap and water on a damp cloth to clean the backside. Be careful around the letters, possibly use a q tip. Trevor

Re: Tach Dash and Bucket seat questions
The lens will clean up with some work and being careful around the letters i just thought it would be easier to get a new one and because i put one in my other gauge setup and it looks great. I will try cleaning it and see how it comes out.

Re: Tach Dash and Bucket seat questions
don't be afraid to wax the outside of the lens. I've used a small buffer pad on a drill and ended up with a brand new looking lens.
I'm cheap like that, and I work for myself for free. Last edited by Longhorn Man; 10-31-2008 at 04:45 PM. |

Re: Tach Dash and Bucket seat questions
You said you wished it had a vac. The tins{ I think }are the same for the air gauge and the vaccum gauge. You could buy a new lens and a vac gauge and be ready to go. I just this week bought a tach -vac cluster off e-bay. Oh and buy the way NICE score! Jim

I use Brasso on lenses and they all come out looking nearly new...
Also an 80 lb oil gauge I bet.. stock C10's had 60 lb gauges... nice steal. I sold a lens to livrat a few weeks ago...

Re: Tach Dash and Bucket seat questions
too bad, I just sold a nice air/tach lense last week! but like everyone has said, it will probably clean up.
I have never seen a repop air/tach lense, so be careful with what you have! and by the way, my gauge setup cost me 100 bones, so you scored my friend!!! the seats look like utility buckets from the Blazers. interesting, I didn't know they were available in the larger rigs for jump seats.....
