Hub Centric ??
So the rim I want from Summit is Hub Centric...?What does this mean and do they fit our trucks?
The guy at Summit doesn't know the center bore diameter. He gave me the number for Pro Comp but can't seen to get a human there yet...... I think it is like bimmer rims where they sit right tight on the hub and center it....?>

Yes, hub centric is the term used where the hub locates the wheel.

Well I got a hold of em
and glad I did the center is too small on hub centric. Made for newer trucks. Got the right part number I need but summit doesn't sell em...DOE |

Best bet on our trucks is to find wheels that are lug-centric. It eliminates the "worry of being close".

Well I got it straight Same wheel different part number for lug centric.
That was alot of work to get wheels and tires wow Hope they fit.....

ours use hub centric wheels too, just not the same size hub.
It's always a good idea to get the proper fitting wheel... esp if you haul any weight. Those lugs just aren't designed to hold the weight of the truck. |

two terms:
Lug centric, most aftermarket wheels are made this way. The wheel centers on the lug studs. Hub centric, the wheel centers on the center hub. If a wheel is hub centric ( all OE wheels are ) when you loosen the lug nuts, the wheel will typically tilt, or fall off of the centering hub. Lug centric wheels, when the lug nuts are loosened will just drop a bit and stay in place. The prefered choice is the OE way. HUB CENTRIC. A truer centering of the wheel to the hub, and a better ride, and load capabilities. Some, but not all wheel manufacturers will offer centering rings for their lug centric wheels, making them hub centric |
