Is this bag supposed to compress more?
I assumed the bag would compress at least down to the 2.5-3.0 range. Its a dominator 2600. The fitting is open and no other blockages and there is no motor in the truck as of yet. There is roughly 2" under the frame. It did lay on the ground.

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
That looks about right to me. Towards the inside, you are about 3" compressed. Only bag I know of that will compress more is a Firestone. You may need to run a cup instead of a plate...

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
I agree, a cup will get you lower. If you change to '73+ a arms you gain a little clearance too. THe frame shouldn't hit the ground unless you have other mods. The a arms are the lowest part in the front. My a arms hit the ground and all I have are spindles and bags, but I used cups, not plates.

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
So I should just bust out the plasma cutter and cut hole large enough for two cut pieces of pipe and weld them in, right? Good thing I just had the arms and stuff painted.
-Thanks

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
I don't know about the dominators ,but I run Slams with cups and my A arms can kill ants.

Any profile shots of your wheels to see how low you are?

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
Cup will most definitely help. That looks to me like its internally bumpstopped w/ how high it sits, must be like you guys were saying w/ the slam specialties.

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
I'm going to add cups this weekend and then I will update you guys. Any idea how much wider the cup has to be than the bag? The bag is 8"W

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
Wake they aren't talking about making pockets, they are talking about mounting cups to the bags.

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
yeah, but....
you can get lower if you mod the arms and weld a piece of pipe in the arm. your bags are 8" in diameter? most I have seen use 8" pipe, but i don't think your bags will work with it. how can you get any lower with cups that sit in the pocket, versus the plates he has. seems like it would be a minuscule amount

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
yes, you are correct, about a .25"-.5" tops. If you want to get substantially lower, you will have to cut the pockets in your arms like you mentioned.

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
the i.d. of the pipe is 8 inches. it would be tough to put a bigger pipe in the arm and still have the bag centered

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
No that is the way they are, it looks good. And no fear on the damaging bag bottomed out, there darn near bulletproof. We have a customer that has had them on his 64 Impala for 8 months now slamming and hopping it with no ill effects.

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
I hope he doesn't kill someone when he wrecks his ride because his bag breaks from riding on empty bags with out bump stops.

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
Yeah, I looked online and it appears they don't have the internal bumpstops. They will lift a little higher and possibly a little shorter, but the disadvantage in their slightly softer ride is that they baloon out more and can rub more easily than the stiffer slam bags

Re: Is this bag supposed to compress more?
Dunno if you plan to cut your lower A-arms or not, but if so here is a link to the ones I did
