Anyone running the Mustang Bullit wheels that look like torq thrust?

I am considering buying some Mustang Bullit wheels in a 17x9 and getting some 275/60/17 Goodyears w/ RWL for my stock height GMC. Has anyone else went this route for wheels?

It will require billet adaptors to go from the 5 on 5 to 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern though. The wheels are new $429 shipped via ebay, the tires are $604 shipped via Tire rack and the spacers are looking like about $130-$200 depending on where I get them. I want the torq thrust look but the wheels are just too high plus the mustang wheels are clear coated and since my truck is a daily driver I wouldn't have to keep on the wheels to keep them looking good.

I have done this type of set up on a '70 'cuda and a '70 AMX with good results.

Here is what my truck currently looks like. It has 275/60/15 tires with 15x10 wheels which I will be selling once I get the new setup. Has anyone else put a 30" tire on a stock height 2wd? I am thinking there won't be any clearance issues. The 275/60/15 is 28" tall and the 275/60/17 is 30" tall. I think it will just fill out the fender well better but maybe some of you guys have had issues?

I was actually considering those for my 1994 Camaro.

2 things I know - the guy you are looking at on eBay has been selling wheels forever and from what I know is a good seller.

Those Mustang wheels look great on that AMX.

I recently put 30x9.50 BFG all terrains on my stock height 2wd with no clearance issues at all.

i was looking into these also i wanted to place the black with the chrome lip on my 69. 22x10 in da back and 20x? up front

you might want to get a measurement on the centerhole of the rim and the truck hub b4 going any further

The adaptors will take care of the center hole difference.

adaptors aint going to be much help if the hole in the center of the wheel is smaller than the spindlehub diameter unless your getting streachy wheels

The wheel and the hub of the truck will never touch. I will be running a wheel adaptor of 2", 2.25" or 2.5", not sure how much I want to go with yet. I drew up a little sketch showing how it will lay out. The green wheel is the 17x9, the red dashed wheel is the 15x10, the blue is the truck hub, the tan is the adaptor.

ok im sorry for asking this i kno i will kick myself when i get the answer but what does the adaptor do?

It adapts it from 5 on 5 bolt pattern to 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. Which if you have a 6 bolt pattern you can adapt it to 5 on 4.5 also. Plus for the newer style wheels that have a lot of backspacing to them it allows you to take some of that up so your wheel still sits where it did before.

Now days they are billet aluminium and they are really durable unlike the old type that are cast and prone to breakage.

I may be out of line asking this but why would you want to purchase a wheel that requires adapters when wheels that look pretty much the same are available in the correct lug pattern for less money?

i get what your saying shane but i am having trouble finding the wheels i want for 6 lug and in the size i want the max i can find is an 18 and i want 20/22

Less money, let me know where I can get some because I will do it, I have yet to find a wheel that has the look of the torq thrust that I can buy all 4 wheels shipped to my door for $429 + $150 for adapors. So for $579 I get a set of 4 17x9 wheels ready to go. Torq Thrust through summit racing are 250-329 each depending on which ones you get and they aren't clear coated. I had a set of polished 17x8/17x10 on my AMX at first and a set of 17x8 on my '86 SWB Chevy but they look like crap really quick if you drive it daily and I don't have the time to clean them. These you just go to a car wash and they look like new, no polishing required.

I have 31 x 10.5 x 15 on my stock height 2wd long fleet with no problems.
