Magnaflow Exhaust kit

Finlly got my exhaust hooked up for now.

A little info for anyone thinking about using the stainless Magnaflow kit for our trucks - If you use a 4/6 drop the rear taillpipes will not work. If you use shorty headders and a 700R4 the pipes from the headders to the x pipe will not work.

I ended up having the muffler shop bend up the tubes from the headders to the x pipe and I will use turn downs either before the axle or after.

For my application, if I did it over again, I would prob just order the mufflers only and have regular pipe run at the muffler shop.

I will try to post some pics once I get it back on the lift.

Re: Magnaflow Exhaust kit

I used the Pypes brand kit (stainless w/ X-pipe also). I had to do a lot of hacking and welding to get it all to fit up. The X-pipe really makes things difficult.

Oh, mine dumps in front of the axle too.

Re: Magnaflow Exhaust kit

I always wondered how well that kit worked with lowered suspensions. I had never seen one installed on anything but stock or slightly lowered trucks.

Thanks for posting that info.

Re: Magnaflow Exhaust kit

They work for the applications they are intended for, any deviation thereof and you are now into "custom" aka make it yourself territory! I want to use that kit (magna flow) since the price seemed right, but I too am lowering it, so I may just get the box of pipes kit and make it work, since reverse engineering a kit made to fit something else??
