Disc conversion crossmember swap
I bought a 85 c10 3/4 ton front clip and was planning on sticking the cross member up under my 61 for disc brakes. Can anyone confirm that the cross members are all the same?
My plan is to buy 1/2 ton calipers, drop spindles, discs, upper arms, lower arms, and cross shafts......then bolt all that onto the cross member and slide it under that 61. So essentially my question is: When doing a disc conversion on our trucks can an 85 c10 3/4 ton be made to fit under a 61 1/2 ton c10? (FYI I'm baggin my truck also) |

Re: Disc conversion crossmember swap
if it is a 85 C-10 then it is a 1/2 ton and even if it is a C-20 it will work in your 61'. The cross members are the same.

Re: Disc conversion crossmember swap
Oops, it is a 85 C20 front clip. 8 lug discs. Either way, you answered my question.
Thanks very much. Daniel |
