Shop insulation ??
I've got a 30' x 50' pole barn that I'm using for a shop. I've got a wall up to divide it into two parts. 30 x 20 garage and 30 x 30 shop. I'm wanting to insulate the 30 x 30 part. I've got a bunch of R-13 fiberglass paper faced rolls that I want to start with by putting them in the roof. I've been told to install a vapor barrier to control moisture. I plan on just leaving the insulation exposed cuz it's just a shop and I don't need to drywall the whole thing. Would it be better to install the vapor barrier between the metal roof and insulation or over the insulation where it would be exposed? Thanks

Well if I understood that correctly, I shouldn't need the plastic vapor barrier at all. Will the metal not sweat and cause moisture to get into the fiberglass?

The plastic vapor barrier should be applied like this: from inside. Plastic barrier; isulation; then the roof. The vapor barrier protects the underside of the roof from rising moisture inside the garage. The condenstation is the moisture from inside the garage as the warm air rises from the floor to the roof. You would want the water to collect on the barrier not the insulation.
If you plan on heating your garage, even moderately, moisture will form. I hope this makes sense.
