Has anyone seen a brushed steel bumper?

I was watching this show called Overhaulin and they were fixing up this classic mustang and they put on there a set of bumpers that were brushed steel. Has anyone seen this for our trucks? Where would we go for one? If none are available, I say it's time for one. Because I want them.

Mine is brushed. I took some paint and brushed it on, that count.

Re: Has anyone seen a brushed steel bumper?

Saw this car at SEMA and am not sure if this is a imitation done with paint or the real deal.......but probably the look you are after.

You could buy a non-chrome bumper, strip it to bare steel and use a scotchbrite pad and create a brushed look and then clear over it.

You might have to do a little research to find out which clear would best adhere to bare steel since most aren't designed for that use.

It is a cool look.

Re: Has anyone seen a brushed steel bumper?

Use clear powder to coat the polished bare bumper, i.e., powder-coat. You could have both sides done and it would be (theoretically) sealed from the elements.

To get that brushed look your strokes will need to be continuous from end to end or it won`t look right.Bare that in mind.

There are products out there that you can use. House of kolor has a chrome paint that looks like brushed steel. And if i remember you can use a soft cloth on that paint after it dries and simulate sand marks.

The orange Camaro was in a recent issue of Chevy High Performance magazine. In there, it said that the stripes were bare metal , sanded and clear coated.

Re: Has anyone seen a brushed steel bumper?

I think on the mustang they did a faux aluminum look on the paint. where they brushed the paint. I cant remember how, but I will look into it when I can find a video of that show.
