Blazer fuel filler measurement

I was wondering what the diameter of the fuel filler hole is on the left rear bedside of Blazers? Here is a pic showing where the filler neck sticks out. I am going to use a Blazer filler for my relocated fuel tank, and need to know the measurement of this hole. I am going to add a factory gasket, and want it to fit properly. Thanks!

Re: Blazer fuel filler measurement

What I did was take the Blazer filler tube and relocate it to the inside of the bed. I then took the Blazer filler tube cover and placed it the same as original but I had to modify it slightly to match the angle of the filler opening plate. Here's a pic of what it looked like:

Ok, I just thought I'd offer an alternative to punching out the side of a bed. Sorry, I can't help you with the hole dia.

Re: Blazer fuel filler measurement

Does anyone know if the filler neck gasket is the same for Blazers as it is for the 67-70 trucks?

Re: Blazer fuel filler measurement

I have a Blazer bedside in the parts pile, I will go out tomorrow morning and see what I can find. I don't think the gasket is the same but i'm not sure.

Re: Blazer fuel filler measurement

That bedside still has a filler in it. I will try to get it apart and get you an answer in the next couple of days. I cut a hole in one and memory tells me it was 3" on the outside wall and 2.5" on the inside wall. I will verify if no one else chimes in before.

Re: Blazer fuel filler measurement

Thanks Brandon. I did some research and found that it is 3" in diameter. I am going to make a template to trace it out. That is a really nice Jimmy you have! I can't wait to see it in person.
