Post fan shroud?'s

I have to replace my radiator and will be putting in a four-core in place of the single core. I have a shroud from a single core will it work with the larger radiator or will I need a two piece? I am also installing a clutch fan too.

MJN,

I'm almost sure that you will need to replace the fan shroud with a 454 type. I'll have to look at one of my catalogues from home to be sure. I'm pretty sure the 454-4 core fan shroud is bigger and so is the fan. You will also need to replace the top mounting brackets. The 2-3 row radiators use only two on the top mounting to the radiator support. The four core radiator has a complete mounting plate. You can see the mounting place on this four core radiator I'm installing on my truck.

The plate cost $19.95 at www.cheyennepickup.com The rubber supports cost $4.95 each and you need four!!

The radiator came from a '74 with a 350 and will go back in my '74 with a 350. I might have all the stuff I need but I was just wondering if I needed a 2 piece shroud.

Thumbs up

A 4 core rad, will need to have the rubber mount from a big block truck and or a diesel. you will also need the steal holding clamps on the top from a big block or a diesel. The fan shroud has to come off the same type truck as the 4 core rad.
