Power Steering Pump Bracket
Need some advice. Got a 400 SB (GM3951511) in my 66 Chevy LWB. Added a power steering box and CPP support bracket. Got that all mounted. The problem is not being able to find a power steering pump bracket that will mount to the small block. Any recommendations on the year and model I might search for? Seems that the yards I checked here in Dallas don't have many (if any) older blocks, finding mostly serpentine setups.
Thanks in advance. |

I have everything you'll need, from a 77 w/400. I'll get pics tomorrow.

Re: Power Steering Pump Bracket
You'll need to use the correct long water pump style pulleys as well. Is the p/s mounting boss on your water pump threaded or smooth hole through? There are two different mounts. I should have both, this one is for a threaed boss.
Cheesy cell phone pic, sorry. =========================== Last edited by Cyclone; 01-05-2009 at 08:30 PM. |

Re: Power Steering Pump Bracket
If you are interested in an aftermarket solution, I used this bracket from March Performance on my 63. Fit perfect, easy to adjust, with great belt alignment. It all mounts to the two water pump bolts on the driver's side. It is a little pricey; although they do sell a gray powercoated version for less. Here's a link:

Re: Power Steering Pump Bracket
Did you have any issues with the March brackets in a case where you did not use any of their other brackets, I had read where some folks had difficulty there?

Re: Power Steering Pump Bracket
I am only using the March Power Steering Pump bracket. I had no problems with other accessories. Even the hose connection were fine. My engine is a 1969 350c.i. from an Impala.
