Re: Honest Abe's Shop Truck build
Essentially it wont change anything. Considering it doesnt get max lift cuz the bags top out before the UCA's do so the ball joint doesnt need to pivot that much in the other direction. So your are adjusting the angle when layed out so that they do not bind and it still gets full turning. Yes it gets just about full turn with the truck fully layed out.

Re: Honest Abe's Shop Truck build
What all did you do up front ???
I know you did the LCA mods that I did & you pie cut the uppers to help with ball joint bind & have 3" drop spindles, but is there anything else ??? It looks like yours lays out more than mine does What size tires & stuff are on it ??? And did you ever section your cross member like you talked about ??? Did you body drop it or something ??? And how far is the frame from the ground at dump, measuring close to the front cab mount ??? Sorry for all the questions, just I didnt remember you doing anything much different than mine & yours looks to lay out more for some reason Last edited by Spray-Bomb; 12-09-2008 at 07:28 PM. |

Re: Honest Abe's Shop Truck build
Said it before, sayin it again. I. Love. This. Truck.
Probably one of the most original ideas ever. I've alway wanted to do this, but never found the right truck. Please don't touch it. Leave it how it is and enjoy it. DA

Re: Honest Abe's Shop Truck build
have you thought of Z'ing the front frame rather than reworking the cross member?

Re: Honest Abe's Shop Truck build
We spoke about it. But I feel it will be easier to just section the cross member that way I dont have to deal with the frame and it appears as factory as possible under the hood. The idea it to make it look like we did as little work as possible. If that makes sense. I want it to look original. Aside from it laying body. lol
