Stock radiator question
What size fittings are the transmission cooler lines on the radiator?

i used a 1/2" line wrench to remove the fittings when i removed my old radiator a couple days ago. would guess the line is 3/8"???

Mine are 5/16" lines, 1/2" line wrench. Easiest way to hook up most trans coolers (3/8ths tubing) is to hit the local hardware store and pick up a 5/16"inverted flare" to 1/4" female pipe fitting (straight, 90* and 45* are availible) and a 1/4 pipe to 3/8ths hosebarb fitting. no cutting or flaring required. The lines stay stock and can be reconnected easily later, if you choose. RED

When you hook up a tranny cooler, do you hook into the top or bottom line in the radiator on the passenger side?
I was thinking of adding one soon Duro

The bottom line should be the return line. Both 350TH and 700R4 have the return line as the top fitting. The out/hot oil line is the lower fitting.
Route the tranny return oil line from the radiator to the external cooler. |
