As the title says I'm looking for a set of rear sport bumper brackets for a 73-87 chevy truck. Don't know why i didn"t realize it at first, but the suburban brackets don't work. If you got em post a price and pic if you have one here. Thanks in advance.

The inners are still available new at your local GM dealer, the last time I checked.

Not trying to steal the thread, but would like to go to a sports bumper myself. So I would need inner brackets as well as outer to go from a step style bumper? Any differences between the early (73-78) vs later years (81-87)?

ScottH,... The 73-80 brackets are different than the 81-87 brackets, due to the bumper being shaped different.
And yes you would need both inners and outers if converting from a step bumper. (I have seen people just run outers, though)

Here are the part #'s for the 81-87 inners:
14021341 and 14021342
I don't have the outer part numbers,... but they can be found used on 'burbs and blazers.

you can just run with the outer's that's what i have.i wouldn't step on it or anything,but it's on there solid.

I might try that for a while then. It's my work/toy truck. But i guess iwould at least have a place to mount the license plate.

This is what I ordered when I cut off the welded step bumper on my 1973 Stepside. All parts fit well and the bumper was pretty good. I got them from LMC. I even got the license plate bracket. Looked real good.
