I discovered by reading the manual today that the vacuum lines go to the evaporative emissions canister behind the battery. I found one hose that went from the canister to the gas tank line was broken all the way through. I replaced it and I believe I have the lines correct now.

I was wondering how I could discover if the evaporative emissions canister needs to be cleaned, or a filter in it changed?? Or the whole thing replaced?

I think I saw something about the canister in a '72 service manual. It seems like it said to clean the filter. I will have to look when I go out.... If I can drag my butt away from this board...AARRGG!..
