spring???

Okay on top of changing my trans I'm also going to change the front axle . My 82 has two leafs per side ,My ? is can I add a short leaf from like a Nova rear end to raise my truck up just a little bitt. The front spring really need to be rearched but after spending money on a dana44 , having a set of heads reworked , buying a alumn. intake , and a carb kit I'm kind of tight on the old green stuff. Oh I sorry I fogot to mention the engine work I 'm also doing on top of the tranny and the axle, wont be long and I will have a set of alumn. wheels for sale but thats another story .

SPRING

I did exactly that 25 years ago when I put a plow on my divine 69. Brought it up about an inch with the leaf that I used on each side. They're still on there & I'm still plowing snow with it, but it's now a rust bucket..........didn't have to buy longer u-bolts either..........Zoomy

lift

Not sure about adding leaves to stock springs. If you just add leaves it will probably just make the springs stiffer, not really raise it much. I experimented with rear springs that had broken leaves once, tried adding leaves from another set of springs with different broken leaves to make lift springs. Only ended up with really stiff springs, not lift springs. Another "experiment" that was just a waste of time.

If you only want a mild lift, I have a set of 2" springs I would sell.

I dont want to raise it to high but I would like to bring it to stock hieght or a little taller . I have 33x12.50x15 ans they rubb the inner frender right now becuase the front springs are worn out. How much for the springs? My brother inlaw lives in Troy,Il which is close to St louis ,I think, he could pick them up for me.
