Hubby goes fishin'....

and catches a '70 K10. Well...not all the way home. He couldn't load it on the trailer he had, so he and his buddy checked the gas, said it was good. Fiddled with the thing and finally it started. They drove it to the beach-house (about 30 miles away) doing 70 mph. When they got it to the beach-house, they dug and found out it had been registered to Jerry last year (hubby thought it had been sitting and not used in over 5 years).

So...he caught the big one all right. And best of all...it was FREE. Yes....I said free! Jerry had told him he had "an old POS truck in my yard I want moved". Stan asked him what it was and he told him a 40 year old 4x4. That peaked Stan's interest. Stan asked how much he wanted for it and Jerry said just get it out of his yard. Sorry...no pics at the moment, not 'til they get it to Central Alabama at least. So looks like the kid will have a beater 'til the '67 gets up and running. And I was worried which to get him..an '00 GMC or '02 Dodge.

I've been dreaming of that for years! Maybe someone will have a Bugatti for me to take from their barn...

The '67 was only $1.00 and it looked like this:The Classic addiction. Stan said the '70 looked better and it actually moves on it's own power, so that's a plus. He was planning on parting it for the '67, but now is thinking of rebuilding both. I told him this had better not turn out like his boats or there would be attorneys involved. I can handle one addiction, but two...come on!!! The shop is already beginning to look like it was decorated in early Sanford and Son.

Don't feel bad. I live in the same state, close to the coast, and have never been given a truck. Right place, right time, right people...I never get that combination.

LooseScrews--If y'all decide not to take it back up north, I'll be glad to give you your money back and come pick it up.

TIM! He came through Bay Minette about 11:00 yesterday morning. We may need to you come get it if it brings us bad karma!! Stan got home and I had told him earlier in the morning I heard water running. He thought I was crazy, but I insisted. Low and behold, we've got a leak at the fitting where the waterline comes into the house. So he's diggin' out the line in the rain today.

I did get pics of the truck while the boys were looking for the water leak, and I'll try posting them up in a little bit. Found out it's a 3/4 ton, not a 1/2 ton, so no swapping parts for the '67. I think Stan's decided HE needed HIM a truck, so he'll be looking for a decent body to put on the '70 while working on the body for the '67. Looks like I'm in the truck bidness as well as the boat bidness. Yea me.

I'm just wondering"What test line he was using?"I mean I may try to go fishing and I wouldn't want to go too light.

Cool glove box sticker. I also love the organizer around the transfer case lever.

And that's the GOOD side! The interior roof is also rotted. That's why he's looking for a new cab. The bed sides are actually in pretty good shape...surface rust is all.
