Progress on the 71 Chevy
-
Well, my friend and I started the painting process on the 71 Chevy yesterday. Everything is pretty darned straight on this truck so it shouldn't be too bad to do. The interior was painted red and they had the doors and stuff trimmed in but they didn't paint the glove box door or ash tray. We couldn't get the paint to match so we are going to have to paint the interior again. We are working on the doors and fenders right now and have them primed. I am going to take the hood up tomorrow when I go. I have decided on a red and white color scheme. LockDoc

Re: Progress on the 71 Chevy
Not much... I've had too many interuptions, plus the guy that's helping me is kind of a perfectionist. He doesn't know what a DD is.. To him everything is a show truck and he wants to paint it like that. Anyway I got the fenders and doors sanded again and I prepped the hood so it's ready for primer. I'm building a wall for him in his shop (you can see it in one of the pics) so I had to go to Des Moines today and get a door and some other stuff for that.
I disassembled a small block a couple of days ago and took the block to get it hot tanked and bore checked. The guy from the shop called me early this morning and told me it needs to be bored...Rats! That's about it for now. LockDoc
